We are passionate about creating products for moments of pure indulgence. We create these indulgent moments by hand and with love, using only the very best, premium quality ingredients and following recipes handed down over generations. We truly respect the ingredients we use, so when it comes to food waste, we follow the “Avoid, Reduce, Recycle” rule.
Avoid
Well-coordinated teams in procurement, production and sales ensure that raw ingredients are purchased exactly as required and that Sprüngli products are freshly produced in line with customer demand.
Reduce
Our dedicated production staff always look for ways to adjust production processes in order to avoid any waste or excess. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the product and thorough knowledge of the production processes and technical options.
Recycle
We return any organic waste from our production processes, such as fruit peel, to our partners in the agricultural sector, who use it to feed their animals or to produce biogas. It’s a different story for our finished products. However precisely we coordinate our processes, we cannot predict the exact behaviour of our customers. If products are left in our stores at the end of the day, they will be given to employees for a symbolic price. We also give products that can still be consumed to charitable institutions on a selective basis.
